The old train depot in Worcester has been restored, rescuing another architectural gem. Inside is Middle Eastern restaurant, Byblos, with a spacious dance floor. The lighting is much too dark for my camera so I had to resort to using flash when I wanted to photograph the incomparable Melina dancing with the Ed Melikan Ensemble.
Aware that I might be annoying with that flash, I sat in a corner in front of a giant pillar. I bounced the flash up and behind me using the Spinlight 360 with a black card. That way I hoped the popping flash wouldn’t directly hit anyone in the eyes – not to mention indirect flash would provide a more flattering light to the dancer.
The Spinlight 360
As long as it didn’t bother anybody, the flash made the difference between a failed photo shoot and getting some decent pics. And the Spinlight 360 let me bounce the flash as needed.
Note Melina’s vintage tiger print costume. I love the way it went with the tiger print upholstery in the restaurant!

Wow! Alice you captured the moments! Melina shines as brightly as the stars on her costume!
